Christmas CachetsA visit to the Bethlehem Post Office to send holiday mail has become an annual tradition for many families. You can select one of the more than 77  “Christmas Cachet” designs to hand-stamp your holiday greetings before mailing it off to friends and family with the Bethlehem Post Office cancel mark.

The Bethlehem Post Office has introduced a new cachet each year since 1938. There are now 77 festive designs to decorate your holiday mail, all created by local residents, artists and children. View all cachets

Regina Laudis AbbeyThe Abbey’s 18th-century Neapolitan Crèche was given to the Abbey by artist and philanthropist Loretta Hines Howard, who also donated a similar Crèche to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Hand-carved figures of wood, terra cotta, jute and porcelain, vividly portray the Holy Family, angels, the Three Kings, merchants and peddlers, children, a lamplighter, a woman on her donkey transporting vegetables, peasants and farm animals.

A second Crèche at the Abbey, The Lauren Ford Crèche, is located in a small farm shed near the  Lower Abbey Chapel. This Crèche, created by revered Connecticut artist Lauren Ford, is a charming rustic Nativity scene with figures of Jesus, Mary and Joseph  dressed in New England clothes. The Abbey also opens to visitors its Monastic Art Shop, featuring all products of the  monastics' work on the land and in animal husbandry: crafts, beauty products, cheeses, jams and jellies,  herbal teas, flavored vinegars, herbs, and honey.

Bellamy-Ferriday HouseBethlehem’s beautiful eighteenth century Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden will be festively decorated and open for tours and holiday cheer. Guides  will be on hand to give tours and the family-friendly program will include  games, prizes and surprises for children, including a scavenger hunt.

Admission: FREE with a suggested $3  donation or a donation to the Bethlehem Food Bank.

2014 "Santa Made Me Do It!"

It is a 5K road race, a 2 mile walk, and a 1/4-mile Kids' Fun Run! Tell your friends that "Santa made you do it" and join us for a festive spot of fun!
Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014.

The 5K race and 2 mile walk start together at 10 a.m. There is a free ¼-mile Kids’ Fun Run at 9:30 a.m.

Packet pick-up and day-of-race registration open from 8:30 a.m.

The race starts in front of the Town Hall on Bethlehem Town Green.

Please bring a non-perishable food item for the Bethlehem Food Pantry.
First 100 registered runners will receive a free T-shirt
